What is Eropid?

Eropid is an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction, a very common condition that affects millions of men in the UK and around the world, characterised by a decrease in sexual desire and the inability to get and/or sustain an erection.

Although erectile dysfunction typically affects men over the age of 40, it can affect anyone at any age, with 25 per cent of cases occurring in men under the age of 40.

The condition can be both distressing and frustrating, but there are treatment options available such as Eropid, which relaxes the smooth muscle cells in the blood vessels around the penis to increase blood flow and produce an erection.

The treatment is successful in around 70 per cent of men, although bear in mind that the results will vary between individuals. In addition, this type of medication will only treat the symptoms and won’t address the psychological or physical causes of erectile dysfunction, nor will it increase sexual desire.

While erectile dysfunction may not have a negative impact on your physical health, it can have a significant effect on mental and emotional health and wellbeing. It can affect your self-esteem and confidence and lead to anxiety, depression and relationship conflict.

Counselling and/or therapy may be beneficial alongside medication to help you address the root cause of the condition.

How does Eropid work?

The active ingredient in Eropid is sildenafil, which increases blood flow to the penis and causes an erection. It is important to note, however, that while sildenafil can help treat the symptoms of the condition, it isn’t a cure and will not increase sexual desire.

Sildenafil is a PDE-5 inhibitor, medication that has been found to be effective in around 70 per cent of men. A standard dose of Eropid is 50mg, but this can vary based on age, height and weight, as well as the severity of your condition.

Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and heavy eating can also have an impact on how effective the treatment is.

How to take Eropid

Take one 50mg tablet an hour before you want to have sex, preferably on an empty stomach. Drinking one glass of alcohol won’t have a big effect on the results of the medication, but drinking too much can make it harder to get or sustain an erection.

Avoid combining Eropid with other erectile dysfunction medication. Do not take more than one tablet within 24 hours.

The effects can last up to six hours and you should start to feel the effects within 30 minutes to an hour after taking it. You will need to be sexually aroused in order for the treatment to be effective.

As with any medication, there are risks of side-effects when taking Eropid. These include:

– Altered vision
– Headache
– Flushing
– Nasal congestion
– Nausea
– Hot flushes
– Indigestion
